WHO THIS COURSE IS FOR
This course is appropriate for clinicians who:
- Are early in their FMR journey
- Want clearer structure around diagnosis and planning based on the intrinsic and extrinsic risks that each patient presents with
- Want clear parameters of facially generated anterior and posterior esthetic dimensions
- Want to learn how to manage gingival esthetics in ideal smile design cases
- Want clearer tooth preparation guidelines, designs, and cementation protocols
- Feel uncertain about occlusion, sequencing, or risk
- Want to reduce failures, remakes, and stress
- Prefer a thoughtful, discussion-based learning environment
COURSE OUTLINE
Day 1 — Esthetic Foundations (August 7, 9am-6pm)
- Principles of esthetic crown lengthening
- Biologic width and soft-tissue considerations
- Margin design and restorative implications
- Indirect restorations and material selection
- Preventing esthetic and biologic complications
Day 2 — Diagnosis, Risk & Planning Fundamentals (August 8, 9am-6pm)
- Identifying the true FMR patient
- Medical, dental, and functional risk evaluation
- Common modes of failure in FMR
- Occlusal philosophy and reference position
- Records that matter:
• CR records
• Deprogramming - KOIS Deprogrammer
• Photography and digital scans - The consultation phase
- Creating emotional connection and patient understanding
- Communicating complexity clearly — without “selling”
Day 3 — Execution, Delivery & Troubleshooting (August 9, 9am-6pm)
- Incisal edge position and occlusal plane development
- Diagnostic wax-ups as execution blueprints
- Case sequencing and treatment phasing
- Tooth preparation design and reduction principles
- Provisional restorations as diagnostic tools
- Materials and instruments used at each stage
- Implant integration in full-mouth rehabilitation
- Lab communication and restorative workflow
- Delivery protocols and simple checklists
- Troubleshooting complications
- Why crowns and veneers fail
- Common errors encountered — and how to prevent them
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Participants will leave with:
- A clear foundational framework for approaching FMR cases
- Improved ability to identify and manage risk
- Greater confidence in planning and sequencing treatment
- Practical strategies to prevent common complications
- A solid base to continue developing FMR skills
